Arkansas judge rules for gay marriage: Texas congressman plays the Nazi card

Print—An Arkansas circuit court has struck down as discriminatory a 2004 amendment to the state constitution in which voters defined marriage as exclusively between a man and a woman. The decision by Judge Chris Piazza is the latest in a string of federal and state court rulings that have struck down bans on same-sex marriage in conservative states.  Federal courts have ruled for marriage equality in Utah, Oklahoma, Texas and Virginia. “Although marriage is not expressly identified as a fundamental right in the (U.S.) Constitution, the United States Supreme Court has repeatedly recognized it as such,” Piazza said in his decision. “This (amendment) is an unconstitutional attempt to narrow the [...] Reported by SeattlePI.com 18 minutes ago.
